Fark.. my external hard disk has gone belly up on me. That will be the second time in as many months!!!

What's wrong with me and HDs? I know now that the problem lies with the firewire port either on the hard disk casing or on my powerbook. But am afraid to borrow NNK's external harddisk to try it on lest I fry hers too. :(

Wow. You're the first person I've seen to encounter such problems.
Trying using the USB cables: Walk up to the person who sold you the HD and threaten to strangle him with them.
I think you'd be safer with a DVD burner and a thumbdrive though.

I once fried a Mac powerbook just by pushing the 'on' button. I kid you not.
Just back from Sim Lim where I splashed out on an external portable HD. Am much much poorer now. :S
hmm ... was there any compatibility issues between you & apple? :D maybe it's time to return back to the "Evil Gates" mwahahaha ....
