These are pictures taken with my new camera, the RED Panasonic Lumix FX9. I had actually wanted to get the FX8 as it was SGD150 cheaper (at least that was what the ah beng told me on Friday) but going back today, the offer was no go. They had received complaints from other retailers about the undercutting. The difference between the FX8 and FX9 was only 100SGD, so I plumped for the FX9 instead. In red! Woohoo! So I guess I got what I wanted. My brother thinks the colour aint too hot though. Its red and gu niang. But I bought it, so I get to choose. Mwuahahaa!

Testing the self potrait settings with Monkey at NYDC

A picture taken with a stuffed malamut at NYDC. The colours look a l'll off, if you ask me. Time to read the manual! The reason why I took the picture with the doggie was cos I went back to Ubin yesterday. And made Monkey take pictures of me with Blackie! Will post that up soon. He's grown bigger over the month. Naughtier too.
Thanks to Teuteberg, Lham and Monkey for trooping down to Comex and braving the crowd with me! Was fun hanging out with you guys today!

Hi,
Lucky you. Been saving for ages for a new camera; but my trusty Sony is still working. alas.
Anyway, I think it's the color saturation that makes it a little off. Try the Exposure Value and lighting settings.
Should ask Slurp (another Solidah faithful); he's the best at this.
If all else fails, here's a great (and free!) program to twiddle around with:

heh.. thanks very much!
I decided on the FX9 after seeing chubbyhubby's FX8 during one of our lunches. It was so sexy.. the camera. NOT CH!!! Else CHH will kill me. lol
Kill me, I'm shallow. But at least this is a good looking AND decent camera. Best of all.. I luuurve the finishing.
Thanks for the tip!
did u put Tungsten mode as huaqin suggested? That is usually the way to counter the yellow lighting
personally i like the yellow lighting
yes i love those german glasses be it leica or zeiss. color saturation is darn good.
this is a classic case when white balance is off. given the lighting condition, it's quite unavoidable.
with new models, you should be able to set manual WB, but you need gray / white card for camera to reference to. some can even do WB fine adjustment, check your manual under white balance for more instructions as it varies from camera to camera
of coz lazy person like will take everything as it is and then go back and do post-processing. magic button is "Auto-Level" if you can find in your Photo editing software. (sorry not available in Irfanview)
Auto Level works most of the time, those time when it don't work, it's back to manual tweaking :(
for irfanview, try the color enhanced and play around saturation & hue.
good luck!
