i did a lot of searches and still don't know what gastrulation means...
gastrula = An embryo at the stage following the blastula, consisting of a hollow, two-layered sac of ectoderm and endoderm surrounding an archenteron that communicates with the exterior through the blastopore.

ok i read wikipedia
so its the process during gestation lah, cells migration to evolve the embryo and what not
so my question is:
even if you gastrulate, but there was no birth. you still would not have been. unless of course you are one of those animals that gastrulate outside of the mother's womb then of course gastrulation makes or breaks you.
i like the development of the digestive tract bit. You eat therefore you are. :)
if you dun gastrulate propely, you will look like a skinned monkey. if you dun gastrulate, u will look like jabba the hut.
gastrulation followed by no birth = death
BUT without gastrulation, you wouldn't come into being. No ectoderm, no endoderm, no mesoderm for your organs to form. No digestive tract, no mouth, no anus... how to live like that.
