Ipod making up for its tantrum last night

The ipod has a funny way of digging up songs you thought you have forgotten from ages ago. Last night, as i was lying in bed waiting to drift off the sleep, this song came up. An old favorite I had left behind.... so i forgive the stupid thing for giving me a scare exactly 24 hours before... thought it was going to croak. I'm not an ipod serial killer after all.

Runaway Train ~ Soul Asylum

Call you up in the middle of the night
Like a firefly without a light
You were there like a slow torch burning
I was a key that could use a little turning

So tired that I couldn't even sleep
So many secrets I couldn't keep
Promised myself I wouldn't weep
One more promise I couldn't keep

It seems no one can help me now
I'm in too deep
There's no way out
This time I have really led myself astray

CHORUS
Runaway train never going back
Wrong way on a one way track
Seems like I should be getting somewhere
Somehow I'm neither here no there

Can you help me remember how to smile
Make it somehow all seem worthwhile
How on earth did I get so jaded
Life's mystery seems so faded

I can go where no one else can go
I know what no one else knows
Here I am just drownin' in the rain
With a ticket for a runaway train

Everything is cut and dry
Day and night, earth and sky
Somehow I just don't believe it

CHORUS

Bought a ticket for a runaway train
Like a madman laughin' at the rain
Little out of touch, little insane
Just easier than dealing with the pain

Runaway train never comin' back
Runaway train tearin' up the track
Runaway train burnin' in my veins
Runaway but it always seems the same

lunch at oscar's

This is a picture of me with my (she proclaims it to be) long suffering friend, Adeline. Just met up with her for lunch at Anchorpoint because its my birthday. So i thought to take a picture and put it up for posterity. No picture of me slurping on my la mian though.

I've known her for 10 years, eversince college. How time flies. In the blink of and eye, we're both 27, and while each of us lead different lives, with our own little microcosm of friends and family, it's always nice to meet up over lunch once every few months just to know what's going on in each other lives. At least i'm not the only one giving her grief now, she's got her hubby to be exasperated with ;). She's going to quit her job and enter pseudo tai tai-hood. Now she's free enough to come to NUS and look me up for lunch instead of me looking for her (mwuahhaaaaha!) For once, she's going to be free (at least more zo bo than me :P) no more monthly closing accounts! and that touchy feely creepy male colleague! yay!!!!

Picture of my new pet

He's only a mere hatchling, and is very tiny, but seems to be doing well. LIkes fruit flies, but hates crickets. Eating well, shitting well, so looks like it might survive. Wish me luck!

Found this on Eskie's blog and decided to have a go too..

Better than not posting, right?!?!

Take the quiz: "Which God or Goddess are you?"

God of Life
Happy, hyper, and just in love with life. You don't mind being alive, in fact you love it, you like being who you are and just having a good time. You are what makes the heart beat and children be born. Sweet, and cute.

my new toy!

last saturday, i finally dragged my ass down to a mobile shop and purchased a new phone. been feeling pai sei with Huaqin's long term loan of his panasonic. now, i'm finally the proud owner of a really nifty Samsung SGH-E600C. It's a tiny sliver clamshell phone with all the bells and whistles.

I've always wanted a clamshell by the way, eversince the korean weepy drama craze caught on in Singapore. Now I can actually pretend that I'm an ill fated protagonist in K-dramas. Only there ain't no Bae Yong Jun at the other end of the line. Damnit.

So the last couple of days, I've been proudly showing it off. Taking all sorts of pictures and generally just fiddling around wit h it. But rest assured that I haven't been reviewing ringtones in public places such as the MRT or bus. I hate people who do that. Makes me want to march up to them and give them a smack in the head. But these days, with my trusty ipod ear phones plugged in when I commute, I'm surrounded by noise I actually want to hear, and not that cacophony on public transport.

Friends who saw the phone all thought it's a cool and good looking gadget, but too much of a 'chick' phone, as Laurence pointed out. Zeehan openly laughed at it's small shape. I guess I'm not that much of a chick to carry this off. But who cares. It's mine! I just hope that I won't lose it. Knowing me, it's probably not unlikely...but the ipod's been around for a year plus now, so maybe things are looking up.
