Packing and more packing
With 2 days to go before I am shipped off to Panglao, I've been busy putting all my gear together, hence the long interval between my first post and now.
Cargo cults, I will leave for another occasion to expand on, because my mind hasn't been on it since the 1st post :P. This one is a little bit more frivolous.. I've been warned by various lab members about the the lack of the kind of coffee we are used to in Singapore (according to TAD and TSH, its more like coffee coloured hot water). I've forgotten about this, since its been a while since I last visited.
So off to NTUC I went this morning to stock up. I bought :-
40 sticks of Nescafe 3-in-1
20 packets of Milo 3-in-1
20 sachets of roasted rice green tea
20 sachets of ginseng tea
5 packets of instant ramen
and 1 bottle of Lingham's chili sauce
An overkill? Well...I guess I can share it with my expedition mates. After all, as TSH said, there's only so much Philipino breakfast you can take before missing the basic creature comforts of Singapore. All this reminds me of Ex-Anambas. SS had a secret stash of milo under his bunk and a select few of us were privileged enough to benefit from it. It was all very clandestine though, like a drug pusher and a junkie meeting in the narrow galley of Baruna Jaya for a transaction. That sure brings back loads of good memories of the gastronomous 6 meals a day on board and the cook's killer rendang. *drool*
Oh well... back to packing now.
